Acidic Fruits and Vegetables

Acid fruits and vegetablesOranges  Sour fruits and vegetables like citrus and tomatoes are often being labelled as 'acid foods'.

This is not true and these fruits and vegetables actually have an alkaline effect on the body. The organic acids in these fruits, like citric acid and malic acid, are mostly oxidized to water and carbon dioxide.

Most of this breathed out, and a little remains in the body as bicarbonate, which is tends to make the blood more alkaline. The citrus fruits and tomatoes have lots of benefits for the body, and thus a recommendation to avoid these healthy foods is not in place unless you have an allergy.
